Description
" Nice guitar work, and very colorful and fun songs overall. I also like that eclectic mix of old school blues, with some New Orleans styles, some Stevie Ray, some Rock and Roll"; Myles Boisen, Producer/Engineer/Guitarist, Veteran performer/collaborator with such notables as, Robert Fripp. John Zorn, Nina Hagen, Henry Kaiser, Fred Frith, and many more.
" These guys tear it up, they really play their asses off, a hard working band through and through. Genuine houserockin' music." Mike "Hurricane" Hoover, Eastern Sierra Blues Society.
" I had heard through Clayton Anderson that Walter was working on a project. And had gotten word to Walt that I would play his music on my Sunday night program.
I recently did an interview with Walt for my radio show in Bishop, CA. Walt is our boy, from our valley. His inspiration is his love, his life, and the people he collaborates with. It's blues with a message, a feel, makes you want to get up and shuffle! Get your copy today!!!!! TODAY!!!!! " Ron "Dink" Knox

Roots Rock, and Blues, from the high desert of the Owens Valley/Mammoth Lakes region of California's Eastern High Sierra's. The band came together in 2001, but several of the members had played together for years. They started out to just play the music they loved, Blues, and Roots Rock.
With Walter Herleman, on Vocals and Harmonica's,(who's shared stages with The Nighthawks, and Pee Wee Craton, and opened for bands like Joe Louis Walker, Commander Cody, The Outlaws, Tom Ball & Kenny Sultan, Steve James, Curtis Salgado, and Billy Preston), fronting the band.
Along with Rocky Scholl, on Guitars and vocals. (Rocky, who has shared the stage with Chuck Berry, Bo Diddly, and James Burton, and been in bands with Henry Vestine, (of Canned Heat), and George "Harmonica" Smith), wrote most of the music for the CD. With Walter's lyrics of love, hate, happiness, bad dope, and televangelist scams make up this CD of 11 original songs.
The rest of the band are are comprised of, Don "Indian Dikk" Bacoch, on Fender Bass. (Don, who played a regular gig for years at the Broken Spoke in Austin, with people like the greats, Willie Nelson, and Eldin Shamblin as a regular guest's sitting in with their band. Don also played bass for several years with Doug Sahm's band). Neil Gelvin, on Tenor Sax, and Rhythm Guitar. And Mary Tannheimer, on Drums. Additional players on the CD are Eddy Evans (The sax master, who played in Wayne Newton's band for several years), and Clayton Anderson.
Roots Rockin' Blues,..or Blues Rockin' Roots Music?
The first CD from a band with about 125 years combined experence. Out of the high desert of California, comes Howlin' Dogma. This isn't your typical "Retro" type blues band. You won't find Fedora's, Zoot suits, or two-toned shoes here. Like so many of the other modern Blues bands these days, they aren't tring to recreate some long lost 1950's sound,(although we love and respect most all those folks, it just ain't us!). This is much more like the Rockin' Blues of the 1970's. Like an old familiar LP that you've owned for years. Blues with a little harder edge. This is serious blue collar, working class music. This is the kind of music you find in the roadhouses, and neighborhood bars. The kind you ride your Harley out to see. The kind you go out to drink, dance, and sometimes fight to. Music of the people, by the people, and for the people.------------American Music!
Grab your baby, and a cold one, put this on the stereo, and turn the sum bitch up!
