Description
Artifact Shore
Difficult to classify, the music of Minneapoliss Artifact Shore evokes bleak post-apocalyptic landscapes, and ranges from industrial, frenetic rage to a meticulously layered melancholy. On Landscape Removal, the band is alternately reminiscent of early Big Black, the shoegazer movement, and the more beat-oriented noise of Merzbow. Artifact Shore adeptly melds traditional rock instrumentation with electronic sources, as each song progressively constructs an architecture of fevered violence that is seductively infectious. Moving effortlessly from catharsis to introspection, the music of Artifact Shore forges its own complex and haunted vision of terror and loss, as wave upon wave of sound surges ecstatically forward.
linedotstar
Chris Friedrich has been making music under the moniker linedotstar for 4 years. His work combines the aesthetics of electronica and indie rock to create epic cinematic and emotional songs. Guitar samples are stretched, twisted and interwoven to construct low brooding undercurrents and ethereal highs.
The songs on Landscape Removal were written while watching the fog roll in over San Francisco. The layers of swirling guitars mimic the fogs dark, slow creep over the citys landscape.
