Description
pariah. consists of two members: MIT undergrad Robby Bryant and a beat-up old IBM Thinkpad. So, granted, there aren't a lot of us, but at least we're both sexy.
Past this surface, pariah. can be a little bit bewildering. It seems to weave together techno, trip-hop, rave, downtempo, industrial, classical, and big beat into a sometimes dark, complicated fabric that somehow ends up sounding good. This can be a little much for the casual listener, but that's exactly what I set out to do 4 years ago. pariah. music is a reflection of all the emotions and thoughts that I have experienced since first downloading that copy of FL Studio senior year of high school and tooling around with it in my bedroom, and it is meant to for you to get a feeling for that experience. It is different, it is urban, sometimes it is dark, and I hope it makes you feel something when you listen.
The long term goals of pariah. are simple: get the music out there, and build some little niche fan base that enjoys that music. There is no desire for a record label or mainstream success. pariah. is meant for the electronic music kid who wants to try something a little new, the underground listener who glories in finding obscure music he can jam to, the student whose curiosity is piqued by non-traditional harmonies, the music-head who revels in finding new experimental things. If these people listen to my music, and they enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed writing it, then I have succeeded. And if I manage to add something to the genres I work in, or help inspire someone else to write even better music, or produce a beat that gets some MC a bit of reknown, then that's a wonderful extra.
