Description
This is Paul Orwas first CD ever. While many may not recognize his name, his guitar playing skills are all over the place, mostly in the late George Ramogis recordings. Groomed by Ramogi, Paul Orwa Jasolo became a competent competitor to his former master. On many occasions, he teamed up with the other benga veteran, the late Ochieng Nelly in recording sessions. The two were in Victoria Jazz during which time they recorded such hits as Ondiek Chilo, M.P., Pesa Orumo, and Dan Osanjo among many others. Later he gave us Opiyo Midianga. This is a great CD for anyone who likes good benga music. The death of his benga contemporary, D.O. Misiani leaves Paul as the only true benga musician in Luo Nyanza.
