AT THE EDGE OF THE EARTH

I've gone insane and lost touch with reality. I see it coming. I see it in the distance. A time bomb is going to blow up and my entire existence will skyrocket to another dimension in another time and I will no longer be known here. I will be prepared because God has a plan for me. I have allowed extraordinary people into my life, and they have been preparing with me. The world I live in will soon end and I'll run to the edge of it, turn around, and watch a giant tidal wave destroy all cities and all human existence. I'll sit there with my people, but I'll still be lonely as I stare over the edge of a dying planet. I'll close my eyes and say goodbye forever. With one leap into oblivion, I'll be gone. This is what I have become. I've become inhuman. I've become a machine. I've become capable of anything and it's frightening because there is nothing I can do to stop it.How did this all happen?

One summer afternoon as I stood in a peaceful garden, two hands shot up through the soil and pulled me straight down into the ground with ferocious force. Little did I know, this was going to be a terrifying journey through the dreariest parts of Hell. The clenching hands pulled me deeper and deeper into the earth. The heat became unbearable but I was still alive. As I was dragged down, I saw bloody corpses. I heard screaming voices and tasted the pain of eternal suffering. Days, weeks, and months went by. The sounds, smells, and images of death became quite normal and I became numb, going lower and lower. My heart soon fried in my chest and my brain melted in my skull. I had no idea where I came from anymore. I had no idea who I was or where I was headed. I wanted to die but my attempts at self-torture had all failed. Finally, the hands pulled me to the feet of Satan himself. His evil grin and evil eyes will leave a hideous image in my mind until the day I die. The next two minutes were the most horrible minutes of my life. With the claw of his finger, he gutted my stomach, ripped out my intestines and chewed them up with a vicious laugh. The pain was excruciating yet he made sure I was still alive. He lowered his gigantic face down to mine and burned my eyeballs out with his dripping saliva. He popped each of my arms and legs off one at a time and cooked them in the fire for supper. But why wouldn't I die? All I wanted was to die right then and there. But he walked away and left my almost lifeless body alone, in the deepest pit of hell suffering in solitude until I became unconscious...

Then one morning, I opened my eyes to another world. Everything, from my thoughts to my surroundings, was somehow drastically different. There was no Hell anymore. I sat up in a luxurious bed and noticed this room, from the walls to the ceiling to the floor, was covered in mirrors. I got up, examined my reflection, and found that my body, from head to toe, was now made of steel. I stepped outside and for the first time, clearly saw a blueprint of my life. My entire future was carefully laid out in front of me and I now obtained the power to conquer all obstacles in my way. An enormous Planet Earth floated beyond the horizon, wearing an evil grin, glaring at me with its evil eyes. It said, "You're stuck here for life". Regardless, I started on my quest.

Today I walk through endless vacant fields. I have made friends with a butterfly who has helped guide me to my destination. He has X-ray vision and has been of tremendous help by observing and carefully gathering essential people who also obtain the power to withstand the obstacles of this journey. We walk, weapons in hand, to find an end to this maze. Our mission is clear. We search for a beautiful castle that stands in a distant land. In this castle lives a wizard who will reveal a secret so that we can identify and destroy the one who has corrupted us. He is the reason for our insanity and we deserve revenge for what he has done to us. In order to find peace, we must and we will...
