Description
Sometimes when you look around you can get overwhelmed by the disharmony. The unsettledness in people can start to get to you. You can feel like you are running a race against time everyday to make the time to do what you want to do, if you could only figure out what that is. There are the pressures of life, the state of the world, and realities as to whats happening with the Earth. Questions like, what are we doing here? What are you doing with your life? Always searching for a bigger meaning in your dreams. Trying to make sense of it all. We are living in times of change, changes that have been in process a long long time. Seeds that were planted long ago have grown into trees. It is clear the old ways of being and doing will not suffice. We are now seeing the bridge that needs to happen between a linear way of thinking and being and a wholistic approach.
Pet Buffalos music is one of those bridges between the past and the present; the present and the future. Their songs are about love, and finding peace, and some of them address the unsettledness of knowing there is something more to life, something beyond what is seen. They reflect the struggle to incorporate that information into daily life. In a way their music reaches back to the energy of the 1960s and 70s and brings it forward. A branch of the tree.
Blues, folk, rock, and jazz influences. The comparision with Joni Mitchel is obvious. Theres also a lot of rock in what they do. An unusual combination of elements brought together by fate and synchronicity. Each of the members in this band have very different influences. They come from varying backgrounds and ethnic heritages. Their talents combine in a beautiful way to produce some great music. They carry forward a spirit and knowledge. It's organic, it's soulful, and it's meaningful in a way that reminds you of something you long forgot and are glad is back.
