Back in the early 2000s sometime, Frank, the booking agent for the Crocodile Caf, in Seattle, WA, contacted me regarding participating in a show, in connection with the Seattle International Film Festival, in honor of the director Spike Jonze. The idea was to get a bunch of local bands to cover songs, the videos for which Spike had directed. What you hear here is the result of my contribution. Spike never showed, the bastard.
I like to think of myself as somewhat of an experimentalist within the realm of hip-hop. But, it helps to show that I can actually pull off the straight-ahead stuff when needed, and I think this project proves that quite well.
Pure hip-hop; straight up boom-bap.
