Description
If you like the melodies and thick arrangements of progressive bands like Genesis, Spock's Beard, Pink Floyd and others,
if you also like the funkitude and catchiness and humor of tunes from jam bands like String Cheese Incident and The Motet then check out The Quatloos!
The Quatloos combines the lush, melodic aspects of vintage and modern progressive rock with the rhythmic drive of a funky jam band without the 15 minute epic song length (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Grv-a-licious is a groovy, driving tune that asks the question, "How could you not groove to this"? Sounds great Greg!
Slacker Town takes you into the mind of a slacker in search of a change. This is probably the fattest arrangement on the CD. Apprepos for a tune about a slacker no?
Mask the Fate (say it 3x fast). One word for this tune, "rockin' drive in the middle east". Ok, six words. It's too big for one word.
En-thralled is ethereal yet a little unnerving. Horny whales at a drum circle.
Absence of One is probably the most "prog" of the tunes on the CD. Lush vocals with multiple acoustic and electric guitars in 6/8. It explores a young man's confrontation with his father over way too much wine.
Knights is disco the way it should have been. This is what happens when you stay up far too late.
Shanah! Kirk misses his drill thrall to a very nice little melody and an unforgettable guitar lead.
Let's Roll gives you a poppy accompanyment to an early morning cruiser bike ride in Santa Cruz, CA.
Scent of Heaven : If Pink Floyd wrote love songs.
Christopher Robin must have been a prog rocker. (Winnie the Pooh and the Gentle Giant?) Another tune showing our progressive roots.
El Robbo finishes the CD south of the border. A beautiful end to an eclectic collection of songs.
So please check us out. You'll be glad you placed a bet of 5,000 on the newcomers. We're curvy, sultry and most of all, easy.
