Description
You may have noticed the price is set pretty low for this CD. Well, it is and the reason is simple. In December I have a new CD coming out and will be focusing all of my attention on it and on the live band I'm putting together. So, to give those who've been on the fence about picking up a copy of this CD, I thought why not a bit of a push. Get it between now and December 31, 2006 for $6.99. The price will go back up on January 1, 2007.
Broken Things is a rock album in the flavor of early Sabbath (dark themes) but it's also a blues album. Some tracks have been compared to Stevie Ray Vaughn in sound and feel. Personally, while I'm flattered by such comparisons, I don't hear it. These songs were all created to convey my mood and situation in life at the time of their creation. Some reflect my view of world events and others simply poke a little at everyday situations and relationships.
It is odd, to me at least, that the CD sounds as it does to some people. It was mastered to sound best on a wide variety of playback gear but some have reported, including one reviewer at cdreviews.com, that the instruments are too loud in the mix. I may release a remixed version in the future but for now, this CD sounds the way I intended it to. If you like it, share it with your friends. If you don't, then please share it with anyone you think may like it.
The songs on this CD move from metal to rock to blues and back again all within 45 minutes. One track here, The War Rages On was a recipient of an honorable mention award from PeaceDriven.com and their Peace Songs competition.
My hope is that every listener will find something within the 11 tracks to lighten their day or perhaps give them pause to think about the world as it is versus, how it should be.
Enjoy! And please tell your friends and family.
