The band known as Sea Water Bliss
The band known as Sea Water Bliss
At first you might think it's children's music, but then you listen more closely and realise it's not meant for children at all. What is it, then? Christ, we don't know.

Description
"And the band known as Sea Water Bliss
Were alive all the while on a small desert isle."
Taking their inspiration from Gordon Lightfoot, Pink Floyd, and John Denvers collaborations with the Muppets, the band known as Sea Water Bliss doesnt really sound like anyone else out there. Which may or may not be a good thing.
In their half-dozen years on the periphery of Saskatoons music scene, Sea Water Bliss have produced a full-length rock opera at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival, written music for a retrospective of John Wills paintings at the Mendel Art Gallery, and alternately charmed and alienated crowds at a variety of venues.
Now theyve finally released their eleven-song, self-titled debut album, featuring the hippie-pleasing banjo anthem "Adelaide", the sinister singalong "The Palace of Justice is burning down", the arena-rocking "Theme from Teen Wolf Too", and their haunting nautical theme song "The band known as Sea Water Bliss".
Theres even a childrens song with a chorus of growls.
With an idiosyncratic sound ranging from crunchy power chords to delicately strummed mandolins, and Michael A. Charles darkly whimsical lyrics celebrating evil children and circuses-gone-amok, Sea Water Bliss have been compared to They Might Be Giants and The Decemberists.
"Every song was as sweet as a kiss
When the band known as Sea Water Bliss
Played their instruments Sea Water style."
