Hello, my name is Sherwood. Thank you for checking out my debut CD, Here I Go. Its a mix of new blues, old blues, originals, spirituals, an eight track flash-back and even an a capella rendition of an old Mississippi prison song. There is an acoustic version of Amazing Grace, where I play some old time slide. Of all fifteen cuts, "Two O'Clock in the Mornin" is the representation of what I call Authentic...Bedrock...Blues. I hope it speaks to your heart the same way it speaks to mine.
The six originals represent my first effort at song writing. It is a humbling experience to have people from around the world write you and thank you for your music. It has touched me in a way that cannot be put into words. Sometimes it's not the destination...it's the journey.
We had a great time putting this CD together. It's my hope and dream that The Sherwood Blues Band can bring Authentic...Bedrock...Blues to people everywhere in the twenty-first century.
