About the artist:
Talia Applebaum came to Israel 22 years ago for a "short"
visit and has been planted there ever since. While there, at the age of 18 she made a pivotal turn in her life and returned to the ways of her Forefathers and Mothers.
Although she loved music from the time she was a child, dreaming about being a singer, like her mamma was, and for years could just fall asleep to the sound of music, her forte, until recently was writing. Her work has been published in several Jewish newspapers and books and she also self-published a journal for women called A Womens Way. Among other things she also wrote songs and desperately wanted to do something with them. But alas, after trying to learn to play guitar three times, she had to face the disappointing truth, she was no musician. Well she thought to herself, Without music, these here songs aint going anywhere! And so they didnt for a long time, until a friend shared a novel idea with her: You dont have to be a musician to compose music! Mmm, interesting idea, and when she opened herself up to it, the tunes started flowing down. No she is not a musician but she is musical. Once the tunes and the lyrics came together, she decided to take the plunge; invest in voice lessons, invest in musicians and make a recording. And so here you have it womenfolk! For your listening pleasure.
