Description
Tami Nichols grew up in Brainerd, MN and began her involvement in the entertainment Industry at the young age of 10. She began doing theatre as a child, performing in plays such as "oliver", "Fiddler on the Roof", "Babes in Toyland", and "Gypsy" to name a few. It was at this point she knew she wanted to continue performing.
At age 14, Tami spent a week at (IMTA) the International Modeling and Talent Association's competitions in Hollywood, CA. There, she took first place in "dramatic monologue" which she had co-written, and second place in the singing competition. Interest sparked, but at the time she was too young to re-locate.
At age 17, Tami started co-hosting a singing lounge act at Cragun's Resort on Gull Lake, in Nisswa, MN. The show headlined from 1995-1998 and was a huge success. It drew vacationers as well as local patrons to the elite resort. During this time, Tami was also doing commercials and voiceovers for television and radio, and toured nationally as the lead vocalist for a successful contemporary band called "Way out West".
Since moving to Denver in 1998, Tami has been given some unique musical opportunites. She has been lead vocalist for "Boogie Machine", one of the nations premier Disco cover acts, as well as the Retro 80's cover band "Ronnie Raygun and the Big 80's". She then moved onto an original project called "Image" where she co-wrote, produced, and recorded and album of 11 original European style pop tracks. "Image" performed at Denver venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe, and The Soiled Dove.
Today, Tami has just finished her first solo album, entitled "Tami Nichols" that she co-wrote, and co-produced. She is playing out in Denver, so check out the scehdule! She hopes to see you at her shows....www.myspace.com/taminichols or www.taminichols.com.
