Description
The song, "Suddenly Morning", was written for my niece, Laura, and her husband, Romeo, and was first performed at their wedding reception. The rest of the songs were written at various times over the last fifteen years and are meant to represent a variety of styles and moods.
A few people helped me out on these songs. That's Prudence (Hail to the Queen!)Hunt doing the "ooh oohs" and her husband Jim on percussion and cymbals on the epic pirate saga, "The Seven Seas". And those are my nieces, Elizabeth, Mollie and Angela Kelly, stealing the show on "Bluesy Little Song About You."
That's my friend, Gizmo Cuirkowski, adding the bouzouki to "Out There Too". Both Giz and Marvin Sweeney kicked in some vocals and handclaps on "Suddenly Morning".
Keep an eye open for the upcoming release by Gizmo and his band, The Urban Owls. It's a live recording, "Groundhog's Day at CPGG's". It's a hoot.
A special thanks goes to Dan Murphy and his trustee assistant, Corky Sequoia, at Group Effort Studios, Crescent Springs, Kentucky. Also to Mike Barker and his hardworking staff at Useless Relative Productions. Great work guys.
And, of course, to Laura and Romeo. The wedding was a blast and I was proud and honored to be able to play my new song for you and the assembled multitude of family and friends from sea to shining sea. The Big Apple was rocking till the wee small hours that night. Laura, I've never seen you look so beautiful and happy. I wish you and Romeo a lifetime of love, happiness and prosperity.
