Description
The hot new jazz group in Cleveland is Transportation Boulevard, which has been gigging regularly for the past year and is ready to take the proverbial "next step." The band alternates between intense instrumental pieces that allow the talented horn players to stretch out (Dan Wenninger on tenor sax, Jake Wynne on trumpet and flugelhorn), and challenging vocal numbers featuring Tyler Postma, an exciting young talent originally from Down South. Rounding out the group are Jim Juliano (piano), Dean Theodosion (bass) and Bob Walker (drums), fixtures on the North Coast music scene. Their new CD is titled simply "Live in Cleveland," recorded live by studio wizard Don Depew and mastered by true star Jason Lustig, both of Metrosync Studios, part of the Cleveland Agora complex. The songs were arranged by members of the band and the CD includes three original pieces (At the Pace, James Dean and Trippin').
