Description
Tribolectric plays an up-tempo blend of dance inducing psychedelic funk rock. They're a 5-piece outfit with female lead vocals from the San Francisco Bay Area. Whether in the studio or at a live show, Tribolectric weaves together dynamic jams, heavy grooves, and conscious lyrics. It truly is music that moves.
triboelectricity:
An electrical charge produced by friction between two objects.
By deriving their name from this physical force, their mission was clear from the beginning: make the people dance... by creating a positive environment for an emotional give and take with the audience.
Mike Toth (Bass) and Kris Jones (Drums) use their wide spectrum of influences (ranging from classic rock to funk, electronica, and metal) to create a syncopated groove-laden pocket while Jon Christensen (Guitar) and Luke Williamson (Keys) create sonic hoops and hurdles that beg to be jumped through. Jon lays down leads that growl and sing and creates atmospheric textures with a wide array of techniques. Meanwhile, Luke warps the weave and welds the cracks, ratcheting up the psychedelic quotient and searching for new destinations and inner dimensions. Vocalist Kimba Theurich radiates beautiful melodies, thoughtful lyrics and her own special tripped out vocal stylings.
Tribolectric just loves to play. From rocking house parties to cruising around music festivals to playing live, the band combines strong musicianship, conscious lyrics, and open minds to create an outstanding experience.
