Description
On this, their second release for LBP, Los Mas Valientes guides the listener through a Latin flavored sampling of Caribbean styles including Songo, Salsa, Bomba, even Bossa Nova and Reggae.
Although the influences are varied, the band remains true to its roots by delivering a cohesive album, diverse and exploratory, yet always remaining Latin jazz at its best.
The band has grown and changed a bit since the last CD, adding Willie Serrano on bongo and percussion and Victor Rendn on timbale.
They've included some vocals on this record with their arrangement of a Salsa standard, Obsesin, as well as on Timba-Son and Vieques.
The band is joined by some extraordinary guest musicians as well: trumpeter Ray Vega (Tito Puente Orchestra), Miri Ben Ari on violin and Carlos "Tato" Torres.
After the success of the first record, we are very excited about the possibilities for this one.
The first record enjoyed extensive airplay, a top ten ranking from Latin Beat magazine and brisk sales.
