Description
YouthAlive is one of Australia's biggest gospel rock acts, playing to tens of thousands of young people around the nation and throughout Asia each year.
The award-winning CD "Shout Your Glory" will get your ipod buzzing with a mix of hard rock, hip hop, horns and even a dash of 'Coldplay' for good measure. If you like your praise and worship intense, inspiring, young and fun, then "Shout Your Glory" is for you.
Here's a review by Steve Bridge published in a New Zealand Christian magazine recently:
Hot on the heels of releases by Hillsong United and Planetshakers comes the ministry which really started the whole Australian rock praise thing, Youth Alive. Here a combination of a dozen young musicians from Western Australia produce a youth-focussed praise and worship album of original songs with an eclectic selection of music styles. 'Shout Your Glory' certainly applies to tracks "Shout Your Glory" and the live "All Day" (which has a Coldplay "Clocks" intro), as they are loud! However softer songs, "Anyway", "How Much" and "Surrender" are tender and worshipful. With most of the songs recorded in the studio, a highlight of the album is "Take Over", another rock track, which won a secular award in Australia for Gospel Song Of The Year. Record stores in Australia are promoting the album as being "nestled somewhere between Hillsong United and Linkin Park!" So if that serves as a disclaimer then so be it. The Psalmist declares, "Shout with joy to God, all the earth!" (Psalm 66:1) and these modern day psalmists from Down Under do just that!
