Description
Kellys second release, A case of truce, celebrates her accomplishments as a talented producer, guitarist and songwriter, and was able to reconnect her with the musical roots she had found on her previous release: drummer/producer Ben Phillips and, as Performing Songwriter says, phenomenal session bassist Jackie Street. The three work together like a seasoned Nashville team on the cd, yet avoid having the cookie cutter sound that is often prevalent in some Nashville sessions. The EP has a pop rock feel to it, and the thing that adds to it about being done in Nashville, is its well done, which is what happens in Nashville. People there have an exact system. And I m quirky enough to keep it from being genre-fied, so the two together make this combination work, Zullo says.
"Especially noteworthy is the independent woman approach of 'Stone Girl', with some great lyrics, stunning guitar work and a vibrant vocal."- Maverick-Country Magazine UK
