Description
In a budding Metropolis there comes a new face to an already thriving Bay Area music scene. While many artists lie by the waist side in a constant struggle to make them known, and never see their dream into a reality emerges an artist that conquers all boundaries. He is an artist that lives life through his music and makes music through life. His music adds to the music scene rather than follow mainstream trends. Reflecting on times in his life about dreams that he has, where he has been, and where he wants to go, one mans music has something that we all can relate to in our own lives. Who is this man you ask? His name is Matthew Strand.
Strand began to play guitar around the age of 15 with some basic instruction, but most of his skill was self-taught. Since the age of 7 he had been taking piano lessons, which made it an easy transition to learn chords and scales. It was not long before his self-taught knowledge soon showed promise. His promise became his passion, which then became his personal journey to make music for a living.
Mathew Strand got his official start in the entertainment industry through male modeling where he was given the opportunity to unveil his musicianship. In 2001, Strand competed in an International Male Modeling contest that was hosted in the city of Los Angeles. At the competition he received an award for Performance Excellence for Male Vocalist. That was the moment that signified the start of Strands journey towards a career in music. From that point on Strand took his music to the next level writing songs and performing for audiences throughout the Bay Area receiving positive reviews on his music while developing a loyal fan base of listeners.
In 2006 Matthew Strand heads to the forefront of a thriving Bay Area music scene starving for a fresh new face and talent. Strand is set to release his debut album in the upcoming year. Strand is working with producers, Jerry Da Hermit Dalalo and Henry Hen Boogie Alexander, who have a proven track record in the area of music production with combined experience of over twenty years in the music industry. Dalalo will be producing the bulk of Strands debut album. The album will reveal Strands style, influenced by artists from Marvin Gaye to Jack Johnson, which combines hypnotizing acoustic guitar melodies with thought provoking heartbreaking poetical lyrical ballads. Tracks from his debut album touch on topics such as social consciousness, life, and relationships.
Strand understands that the music business is a tough career to break into, but he is attacking it with the same intensity he applies in his own life. I dont care how many records I sell but I do care that I put out a quality product that people can play and enjoy each track states Strand about his approach to making his upcoming album. Guided by his commitment to make quality music and the support of his family, Matthew Strand is the artist music fans have been waiting for all their lives and didnt know it until now.
