A Magical Time of Year
BETTIE ROSS
If Erik Satie or George Gershwin were alive & writing in today's world, the music might be something like what Bettie writes. Her music is a kind of "serious music" diving headlong into popular music, mixed with intelligence & a dash of improvisation

Description
This CD openly and joyously presents the musical expression of a very alive and musically well-trained woman living in modern times.
This is Betties first recording for Alternative Classical Records. The work breathes with the life and expression of a Magical Time of Year.
Here is what Bettie had to say about her inspiration for writing this music:
The end of fall and the beginning of winter are filled with beautiful landscapes of the changing weather: the leafless trees, rain, snow, fog, mists and icethere are family gatheringsvisits with friendsreflections on life and looking ahead to the new year just starting. For me, these things create a Magical Time of Year.
Ten of the CD's 12 tracks are piano solo. On two of the tracks, Winter Solstice and Serenade for a Beloved Being, Bettie is joined by guitarist Frank Blumer.
