Description
Released at Thanksgiving 2001, "Friends With King" was the 8th CD by Brian Maes and his band. Received 3 stars from the Boston Herald. It marks the beginning of "Happily Ever After" for Brian who had just met and began working with MaryBeth Linehan, a beautiful person inside and out with the voice of an angel who would become Brian's wife only 5 months later. Most of the material on this CD was written about this restoring of faith in the fact that things can really get better if you just believe! Outstanding performances are all over this record by Kook Lawry on guitar, Tim Archibald ("RTZ" member) on bass, drummers Paul Soares,"Little" Dickie Paris, David Vargas and "Old" Tony DePietro, guitarists Guy Ford and Pete DiStefano, bassist Lou Spagnola, David Winslow on flute, Dennis Tully,Jamie Maes, Patty Barkas and MaryBeth Linehan on backing vocals, Also joining Brian here are former "Boston" bandmates and fellow "RTZ" bandmates with Brian, Brad Delp on backing vocals and Barry Goudreau on slide guitar.
