Description
Driving East on US Highway 2, the Columbia Plateau, Washington State, the town of Waterville rises from a wheatland dream, as a John Deere tractor prowls in gold and green. Its a beautiful village, far from the bustle of cities, interstate freeways and goal-driven careers. I found myself wishing I could stay, and perhaps find a little house at the edge of town suitable for my bride of 35 years and our two beagles. We could slow the pace of our lives, have more time to grow old together, to grow closer to God.
Yet I know the residents of Waterville are faced with many of the same challenges over which we city folks stumble. There is heartache. There is loneliness. There are "souls in need". And when it comes down to it, there is nothing more important than reaching out to our fellow human beings, loving them as Christ loves us.
Waterville's old main street brought memories ... of growing up and coming of age ... of people and lives touched ... of trials ... of blessings ... of the incredible grace of God through Jesus Christ
These songs flow from that wellspring.
