Description
Though born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, George Miserlis' roots trace back to the lovely artistic island of Lesbos, Greece.
George, whose father sang him Greek songs such as Maria Me Ta Kitrina while he was in the cradle, fell in love with American music upon attending Concord Academy in Massachusetts and Syracuse University in upstate New York, and performed in Evita playing Che Guevera on an unforgettable East Coast tour.
He was hired by the original New York cast for the long-running show Forever Plaid, performing throughout the US and exclusively in Beverly Hills at the Canon Theater. It was as a Plaid he was fortunate to meet Colin R. Freeman, and discovering they shared an affinity for the absurd and ludicrous, became fast friends.
Producer and arranger, Colin R. Freeman, has worked in Londons West End productions of Cats, Chess, Jesus Christ Superstar, Me and My Girl, and Pirates of Penzance. Hes conducted the Pittsburgh, San Jose, Rochester, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Minnesota Symphony Orchestras, among others. He is best known for exquisite arrangements for Hal Linden, Rod Stewart, and his beautiful wife Lorna Luft.
Paul F. Perry, arranger and lyricist for The Blanks, contributed brand new lyrics for the Greek song, Tein Afto Pou To Lene Agape, which was originally sung by Sophia Loren in the movie, Boy on a Dolphin, back in 1957 and nominated for an Academy Award. This new song is titled, What is Love? Most recently, Paul wrote half the music on the upcoming NBC SCRUBS musical to tenatively air the third week of January 2007. Indeed, it was a great honor that he was able to write these brand new special lyrics for George's album!
And so, enjoy the uptempo, real driving rhythms and the tender, heart-wrenching ballads of Big City Sessions sung by George Miserlis smooth-as-tsatziki, velvet baritone voice today!

Latest NY Review:
"There's something about George Miserlis' voice that's quite appealing - it's especially clear and strong....
a member of the playful a capella group The Blanks; the group sings the Beach Boys hit "God Only Knows" on this CD. It's an entertaining, feel-good track.
Colin provides sensitive solo accompaniment for a reflective "Bein' Green" that is blessedly understated and quite effective.
exciting Vegas-style charts and George sings them with channeled flair"
