Description
Suzanne Petri is a 2006 Winner of the After Dark Award for Outstanding Cabaret Artist . A darling of the Chicago cabaret scene, Suzanne has brought her "marvelous voice... vivacious performance... wry sophistication" to dozens of stages including the American Theater Company, the Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago Shakespeare, the Park West, Steppenwolf and Jazz at Lincoln Center
Her new studio CD "Das Grand Tour" features European and American cabaret standards, along with jazz favorites and original tunes. Her long-time musical director and collaborator Bob Moreen is featured throughout the album. Suzanne and Bob have appeared regularly at Chicago's Cyrano's Cafe Simone; A Parisian Cabaret.
As a cabaret artist, she performs a wide variety of music from European and American cabaret to jazz standards and show tunes. She chooses music that connects to her heart with a passion that moves her audience's heart, whether revealing a specific artist, or work of great composers and lyricists.
Suzanne was a 2000 Cabaret Fellow at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center's Cabaret Symposium where she studied with Julie Wilson, Margaret Whiting, Carol Hall, Lina Koutrakos, Rick Jensen, Lincoln Mayorga, Tex Arnold and other cabaret luminaries.
