Description
"Blis" is a gifted poet, musician, songwriter and inspiring orator. He was born and raised in the Bronx and did not realize his talent for poetry, or music until adulthood.
Blis performances include: NY1, WNYE FM, Bronxnet, The Harlem State Office Building , MTA Headquarters, The Sugar Shack, Harlem YMCA Theater, The Nuyorican, Restoration Plaza, The Harlem Book Fair and Danny Simmonss Corridor Gallery & the Bronx Borough President*s Office to name a few.
As A member of the Jefferson Market Poetry group his work was included in the books, Chimes from the Clock Tower Volume 1& II published through the New York Public Library. In 2001 he released his "Sound of a Woken Man" CD but after the birth of his daughter, Blis took a two year break from performing to assist her in, "adjusting to life outside the womb."
In 2004, Blis made his acting debut in the off-Broadway play, "The Department of Veterans Affairs," where he actually wrote his own part. On November 1, 2004, he was the featured poet at the Bronx Borough President's office. That same year Blis made his television debut on Bronx Net's "Black Wash" program as a special musical guest.
On Feb 4, 2005 He was the featured poet at the Cultural Collective Art Exhibit at the Harlem State Office Building. On April 12, he made his radio debut on 91.5 FMs Anything Goes.
In 2006, he released he second CD, (((Alive)))Sound of a Woken Man Vol II and is scheduled to make his second appearance on WNYEs Anything Goes(91.5FM) airing December 15th @6:30pm on NY Radio.
