Description
Coming out of the Midwest, Browntown blends many musical styles and influences into one tasty soup. The ingredients: funk, soul, hip hop, reggae and rock. The cooks: Calvin on drums; Brian on bass and vocals; Puma D on keys, guitar and vocals; and Catfish on guitar and vocals. The four met in Bonner Springs, KS, just West of Kansas City, where they went to high school together. Ten years later, their musical paths crossed again and Browntown was born. The name came from a 1983 Econo Line Van that Puma D owned in college, appropriately named Browntown. The old van is gone, but not forgotten, in the name of the band. Browntown's debut CD showcases chemistry and comradery matched by catchy hooks, danceable grooves and sweet melodies. Just add an eager listener, and you have the recipe for one groovy party.
