Lubriphonic is the brainchild of guitarist Giles Corey and drummer Rick King and began with a residency at Chicagos legendary Checkerboard Lounge. They recruited some of the best blues, funk, and rock musicians in the city for these raucous sessions. The result fuses roots music with explosive rocknroll and sensuous old-school dance music-- part Stones, part Funkadelic, and part Otis Redding.

Lubriphonic marks 2006 with its second album Supermoncho recorded completely live in the studio. The ten original tracks are aggressive and soulful, propelled by a relentless groove, crunchy guitar, and popping horns. The band continues to tour throughout the Midwest, including the Wakarusa Festival, Tabfest, and Blottopia VII. Live, the band expands its repertoire into lush and diverse improvisations, bringing their dynamic sonic stew to growing audiences everywhere.
