Description
Recorded live at Falcon Studios in Portland Oregon July of 2006, this cd is a collaboration among three friends with a mutual desire to play improvised music without limits.
Throughout 2006 this trio performed at the infamous Tugboat Brewing Co. in Portland, undoubtedly one of the only "free jazz" clubs on the West Coast, this venue lent itself to all the crazy-ness you'll find on this disc.
The music is comprised of original material written by each band member (Marc Hutchinson, Matt Wayne, Bill Mead and our friend Todd Bishop with "headlights") and also group improvisations ("prelude","interlude" and "interlude 2") that were so common to the bands' live performances.
The entire work was recorded live in an effort to capture the energy and connection amongst the musicians. No click tracks, no overdubs, and all the tracks were recorded in 1 take!
