Description
The New Relics threw out the book on everything they knew and concentrated on the basics; the lyrics, the story, a good driving beat and it seems a big influence from 70s rock. Those ideas took them to a realm of music that even they were surprised with the outcome. With a lot of rock, and alt-country shadows, yet still retaining the introspective thoughts of Michael J. Arbogast's lyrics, The New Relics just deliver great music that everyone can enjoy and hum on their way home.
With 4 CDs under their belt, Casting Stones and Hard Road, Live at the Red Dog and now Chasing Venus, the band is coming of age. Spreading the music is the number one main goal of the group. "We just enjoy having people listen to our music." says drummer Bryan Martin, "If we can brighten someones day or drive home then we are doing our job."
Comparisons have been made to Pat McGee and John Mayer, with the drive of Train and the laid back attitude of Pat Green and The Dave Matthews Band, but TNR has created a vibe that is uniquely their own.
Chasing Venus the latest album from the band is a collection of songs that travels down the roads of Virginia Rock, Georgia Country and Indiana Americana. The music yet has a common theme and personailty. Some people say its like your hearing them again for the first time. First impressions are always good, this is a great one.
