Description
Satchel Brown was born in a basement in Morgantown, West Virginia in late 2002. The band consists of a bunch of friends from the area, and was named after the brown satchel that Mike Mastrantoni still carries everywhere to this day. The band spent early 2003 in a basement, getting ready for live shows in Morgantown. Once things started coming together, Satchel Brown hit the streets of Morgantown in May, 2003.
In late 2005, after two years of live shows and lots of fun, the band gained a very valuable piano player, and the music took on a whole new atmosphere. The band members started a company called The Rock Ranch LLC, and have now played for audiences such as the US Air Force, The West Virginia Day festival around Charleston, West Virginia, and of course, Gibbies in Morgantown.
Satchel Brown's self titled CD was released on November 28th, 2006. It was recorded in McKeesport, PA and by Chris Moran in Morgantown, WV.
