Description
Brevity is a word that cant be used to describe The American Radio. After the departure of founding members Tripp Freeman and Aaron Stanley, after the marriages and real world jobs, after time had set on rock n roll dreams, the songs called out again to long time member Rich Riegel and begged him to pick up the guitar and dust off the old tunes. He complied and soon guitarist Ryan Nelson and drummer Brett Harris joined Rich in pumping new blood and sweat back into the old songs as well as new originals. From there, The American Radio was back in full swing, playing shows and making music that is as thoughtful as it is fun. Since their rejuvenation, the band hit the studio to record a new EP. The wait was long but worth the while as The American Radio trapped their melodic mastery in five songs. Recorded in Memphis, TN, the five song EP stands as a balanced dose of high energy pop and rock n roll that propels the climactic vocal leanings of front man Rich Riegel. Quite in parts and loud in others, you can hear the influences of such greats as The Beach Boys and The Foo Fighters all wrapped in an enjoyable twenty minutes.
