Description
THIS RELEASE IS A 2-DISC SET. YOU GET NOT ONLY THE CD-MUSIC VERSION OF THE ALBUM, BUT ALSO A DVD-FILM VERSION IN STEREO AND DOLBY SURROUND SOUND.
The Moscow Coup Attempt is the music and film endeavor of Los Angeles based producer, composer, and covert operative of disenchantment, Derek Whitacre.
The second release by TMCA for 2006, Insomnia, is a continuation, and at the same time, an expansion of the ideas and themes expressed on the 2005 release The Failure of Shortwave Radio. Starting where the first album leaves off, Insomnia is an uninterrupted 6-movement piece covering 40 minutes of sound and film. The album features the beautiful vocal work of Vera Ostrova, the voice of Russias TheBlueStorm, on the track Do You Fear Sleep? The last portion of the album takes the form of a hypnosis inducing recording of a truly amazing Numbers Station combined anomaly... 2 overlapping occurrences with added sound experiments by TMCA.
The LIMITED EDITION Insomnia comes not only in music form, but also as a film on the special CD/DVD combo release. Clips of the film can be viewed on the Moscow Coup Attempt website (www.moscowcoupattempt.com).
