On Friday, December 5th, 2005, a rapt audience at the Annenberg Theater in Palm Springs, California were witness to an all too rare concert performance by one of America's finest jazz pianists, Harry Pickens.
Accompanied by his no less distinguished bass player, Marshall Hawkins; his drummer, Harold Mason; and special guest vocalist, Yve Evans; all of the performers reached new heights, even by their own exemplary standards.
For those unable to have been at the performance, this live recording will serve as a permanent reminder and memento of what the "magic of jazz" is all about.
