Description
Having been writing and performing together in various indie bands for years, in 2002, Mike Wordingham and Adam Clark started Nobodaddy as a vehicle for the acoustic, folk-tinged, narrative-led, slightly whimsical songs that they had always listened to, and written, but never performed, influenced by the likes of Donovan, Dylan, Christy Moore and Wilco. After an initial positive reaction, they briefly assembled a band to record the never-released Nobodaddys Children, and play some well-received gigs around London.
This momentum resulted in the 2004 Everybody Loves EP, which had a limited release, but their heart lay in the more pared-down sound of their early demos. The last two years have seen them developing strong songs of love and loss, and performing them in the most direct manner possible, to reveal the heart of the songs, to communicate them to their audience. Adam says "With our album There must be less to life than this we have captured a true reflection of our music and the friendship that underpins it."
