Description
Kurt Reifler is an unconventional rock artist. Immediately recognizable by his daring and soulful vocals, he has developed a sound that is singular. His sound carries a passion with a raw delivery that is totally unapologetic. Kurts debut, self-titled album will be released on March 20th, 2007.
Three years ago, telling only a handful of family members and friends, Kurt abruptly left his college life in Washington D.C. for an unplanned European tour. Carrying an acoustic guitar and a duffle bag, Kurt spent nearly a year traveling the United Kingdom, Eastern Europe, and Italy playing informal pub gigs for free drinks, and enough money to live in hostels. The solitude of the trip opened his eyes to the idea of being a solo artist and songwriter rather than a band member, as he had always been prior. Playing under his own name allowed him the freedom to make his own statements.
After returning, Kurt displayed his newfound skills as a solo performer in Washington DC rock clubs and coffee houses, before making the move to New York City. While maintaining his footing as a solo act, Kurt has been welcomed into the indie-rock scene as well. Falling somewhere between Jeff Buckley and The White Stripes, Kurts ability to play solo performances with soaring vocals, as well as hard rocking shows with his full band, has captured singer-songwriter fans and modern rock fans alike.
