Description
Steve Mills was born and raised in Hermiston, Oregon, and found his love of music around the age of 10 when his blugrass-picking mother gave him his first guitar. He played in small bands until 1978 when he hung the stage life up for good. At 52, he has mellowed into writing and engineering his own brand of music, primarily ballads and emo rock, if you need labels for it. Recording by himself on every instrument is Steve's passion, desiring complete control of the process and every sound involved. Many thanks to Paul McCartney and Todd Rundgren for that.
It might as well be Steve's epitaph: "Didn't Play Well With Others".
All of this music represents the past 10 years of recording for Steve. His wish is for his songs to be published and recorded by others, not to be a stage performer. Songwriting and recording are his only musical interests. Finding that next magical sound is what makes his life meaningful.
