Description
THE MUSIC:
*********************
Said Sower's intimate debut, We Are Not Consumed, arrives as flagship worship album of the Atlanta-based Jettison recording label. Songwriting on the 10 track LP fuses mature folk with a tight post-rock rhythm section. Scripture-based lyrics resonate with solemn lucidity focused on God's infinite mercy. In "Sweet Surrender," the album's cathartic climax, a rare holy stillness pervades. Remarkably, the band offers We Are Not Consumed free for download from their website, saidsower.com, in an effort to put their music in as many ears as possible.
THE STORY:
*********************
Two and half years of writing and recording in a basement studio have come and gone…and this time brings with it a certain pride…what we have dreamt about for quite awhile…has finally been realized…it hasn’t been without frustration or anger, doubt or fears, tears or hopelessness…
But “we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because god has poured out his love into our hearts by the holy spirit, whom he has given us.” not that we could ever compare our situation to biblical suffering…but it still puts our hearts at ease to know that something good can come out of this mess.
said sower is the creativity that is deep within us…and our music is one way we worship and give credit to god in our lives…but also…because we are a forgetful people…we find it serves more so as a reminder of a mindset we long to have…to worship god in all things…through every situation…to daily remember his promises…and what he has done and continues to do for us..

THE REVIEWS:
*********************
we sent a copy of We Are Not Consumed to Steve Brown of keylife.org, and here's what he had to say:
"I just finished listening to the CD. I loved it big time. I am an old guy but, frankly, would rather listen to your music than to organ music. You have done a work that is fresh and real.
I liked it all and thought that the two cuts We Are Not Consumed and When We Were Yet were so creative."
