Description
Tony Mckenzie has been playing rock guitar since the early 70's and has played many varied rock styles throughout his musical career. Over time Tony has developed 'his' sound - and you will know it when you hear it. His sound is as defined as any of the guitar greats - check it out.
That sound is spashed all over the 'Eniac' Album, released in late 2006. If you like instrumental rock from musicians like Satriani, Vai and many others then it's likely you will like the 'Eniac' Album which has been developed from an original idea.
If you're looking for powerful rock guitar work with a quite distinct and unique sound then Tony's music will undoubtedly be for you.
Alan Bruce is also featured on bass guitar on many of the tracks on the 'Eniac' Album and has also contributed vocals on '6278'. Alan has been playing Bass for well over 20 years and is a very accomplished musician. These guys are now working on a new album which will be completed in 2007 - and it's going to be something special.
The tracks featured on the Eniac album were developed around an idea - a 'theme' - about computers - from the early 'tube' computers right through to present technology and way beyond. Imagine making very powerful music about a particular subject in this way - it's a very cool way of developing some fantastic music. If you equate to the individual track titles they (and your imagination) will give you a 'flavour' of the music even before you play the tracks - but when you do... bam! the music will impart what these guys wanted you to 'feel' and that's a great indicator of excellence.
For example, '6278' was written about an IP address on the internet (sounds boring, but you would be wrong assuming this!). '6278' has much to thank early 70's Santana for.
'Metropolis' is really self explanatory - think of Superman! Metropolis is an awesome track and epitomises the whole idea of how this album was written. The result of this way of working has produced one of the best tracks on the album and should not be missed.
The 'No Logic' track has some great guitar work - this was the first track Tony wrote on a new tube Amp and was written about sher 'power' as used and abused by some corporate businesses out there - in fact this was recirded in one take. Listen to No Logic - it's an amazing piece of music.
The 'Takedown' track is actually a nod to Kevin Mitnick - a well known computer hacker who eventually got caught. Needless to say, the guitar on this track is awesome and probably reflects just about the level that Kevin achieved at what he did - total evil - especially if you're trying to stop him. Listen to this track for very fast instrumental rock guitar. We could go on about each and every track on the Eniac album and could easily run out of space here, suffice to say, look, listen and buy, you won't regret it.
Tony continues to write some really exceptional music - check it out and you will see what we mean. Buy online, its absolutely the best and lowest cost way to get this music. But don't forget - you can walk right in to your local music store and buy the album the way it is really intended to be listened to - full CD quality - and LOUD!
