Description
This is real music; of life, hope and optimism.
"One dream, One life, One world to save" - Holdin Hands
A very skillful blend of 12 and 6 string guitar playing with superb electric leads (guitarists will love this!)combine with 15 year old Georgia's awesomely mature and haunting vocals in these four tracks.
Chris Whiting made his professional guitar playing debut in 1965 in the San Francisco Bay Area sharing the stage
with the Animals , Beau Brummels, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, and many many others.
Combining his talent and experience Chris has provided a brief introduction of his 15 year old daughter Georgia and
her 18 year old sister Livia.
These four tracks are a unique composite of life experience and youth- and therin lies the beauty and power.
"Wonderful"
JUST US is a family group that reaches across generations to combine a simple message with their music:
The hope for a better world for all living things based on mutual respect and tolerance.
Optimism for the whole global human community to accord tolerance and respect toward each
other and toward all living things.
Respect for the gift of life.
The songs offer a solution adapting the basic ancient asian philosophy of "WA":
WA is Peace, Harmony and Unity in the group circle of life which we all share with every living thing in the universe.
Wa is the humble respect and protection of all universal life.
The message in the song "Holdin Hands" aims a direct historical global indictment towards men who have mixed religion and politics "men have sealed their faith, hiding truth with fear, and the "prophet`s" say!" and cuts across all organized philosphies of thought.
In the song "WA's The Way" a basic human self-analysis of world relations from a universal perspective, "seen from above we are all the same" puts all men on an equal level of responsibility toward mutual respect and control of their future.
The message of " thankyou for helping me through" aimed at all peoples in "All I can Do", and the sad cold desperation of an enslaved daily life in "Zhou Xiao Bay" survived only by hope, form universal themes with no boundaries.
Throughout all the tracks, the very special six string "WA" or peace guitar commemorating the George Nakashima International Peace Foundation was played. The guitar commemorates master woodworker George Nakashima and is a symbol for the dream of achieving a higher global consciousness of divine love and peace.
The group is composed of Whiting sisters, Georgia and Livia with their father, Christopher.
Arthur Hnatek completes the group. All live in Geneve, Switzerland.
Georgia, the youngest, attends the Conservatory of Music in Geneve, studying jazz vocal.
Livia, an accomplished saxophonist and bassist, is enrolled at the school of medicine in Geneve.
Athur Hrnatek has won both the Swiss national and European drum championships, specializing in jazz.
Lastly, Christopher Whiting, originally from San Francisco, brings his unique guitar style formed in the music renaissance period of the 60`s "San Francisco sound".
The spirit of the old " Fillmore" on Geary Blvd. can be clearly heard.
Simple? Yes. Naive? Perhaps, but then every long journey must start with a first positive step.
