Description
Windsor Ontario-based singer/songwriter Ron Leary is a captivating performer who's sarcastic and self-effacing tone will have you laughing boisterously one second and then wondering if you should have the next. It's usually his voice that people talk about the most, one that's been compared to "an old bottle of whiskey - warm, with a little bite and a velvety finish."
But the brand new debut full-length release, theroadinbetween, produced by Dean Drouillard, “is a feast for the ears” and makes a strong case for Ron as one of the finest emerging indie Canadian singer/songwriters. Meticulously crafted tunes are front and centre on an album that combines the best of the storytelling troubadours, with ever revealing arrangements, and a voice that’s uniquely Ron Leary.
At 32 Ron’s a seasoned vet on the stage, with many battle wounds to show. His career began back at age 7 playing drums in his parents Country & Western band “The Corn Huskers,” learning in the process to play one mean fox-trot and how to polka dance pretty much anyone into the ground.
Nowadays Ron plays 150+ shows a year and regular leaves his HQ to hit the road coast-to-coast and down into the US.
Over the past year, Ron has shared the stage with many of Canada’s modern day indie hipsters, including Julie Doiron, Ox, Two-Minute Miracles, Al Tuck, Wax Mannequin, Andrew Vincent & the Pirates, and The Sunparlour Players.
