Description
"The Blue Notes" are one of those groups that people from out of town always ask, "Where are you guys from?" They just can't seem to believe music of this quality comes from Charleston, WV. As a matter of fact, Charleston has top-notch music and musicians in practically every genre. For a small city, it hosts a really vibrant music scene.
"Out of The Blue" is this group's second recording. The self-titled, "The Blue Notes", CD, released in 2005, has been very successful and this new disc is perhaps even stronger. The 12 original tracks run the gamut from Jazz to Funk to Bossa to Blues and back again -- all with that unwavering "B3" groove.
When the trio, McDonald Cary - Hammond B3, Steve Himes - guitar, and Chris Hudson - drums, get into it, the house definitely starts rockin'. The chemistry between these guys is something to behold. And later, when Rachel Franks jumps in with her fantastic vocals....well, this music should come with a safety warning!
Enjoy!
