Description
Gary glides over his keys on this CD dedicated to the lifestyle and people of LA. This piano based musical journey has brass overtones and strings arrangements supported with smooth to funky jazz rhythms. Featured artist Ron Fattorusso plays on a few tracks letting his sax be known!
Pianist and composer Gary Farr has produced and recorded on several different records and CD's. LOST being the first jazz CD released but not the first to be recorded.
Gary and his quintet performed and debuted the LOST CD at
Sunfest in Palm Beach Florida back on May 1, 1999. The original band started recording in 1995. One of Gary's last projects as producer and musician is the successful smooth jazz CD "Up All Night" featuring saxophonist Ron
Fattorusso released in 2004. As a pianist he has been inspired by many jazz greats. To name a few; Oscar
Peterson, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and Thelonious Monk. As a composer, Gary has been influenced by jazz, classical, pop and film composers from Bach to the Beatles, from John Coltrane to John Williams.
"I enjoy writing different styles of music whether I'm playing the music myself or writing for other musicians. With today's computers and technology a composer's boundaries are endless. Music writing continues to be exciting and challenging. Be love, give love and love will find you. Anything short of love is time prolonged." - Gary
