Description
A Journey through 10 Strings
The 10 string guitar is an instrument that pays tribute to the past as well as one that looks forward to the future. While the sheer number of strings appears daunting, eventually one gets lost in the delicious resonance… sometimes to the point where he never wants to be found. Music now no longer lies in the immediate tones that emanate from the instrument, but also suspended in the air as the fundamentals die away revealing the gentle whisper of the harmonic overtones.
My aim for this recording is to take the listener through the different facets of the Ten String Guitar, where not only are the extraneous strings used justifiably, but the novelty of which disappears and becomes part of the thoughtful and beautiful presentation of the musical content.
