Description
10 hard rock songs recorded in New York's Soundworks, below Studio 54, and 2 songs recorded at Jimi Hendrix's Studio, Electric Lady on 8th street. Al first band was lead guitar with Eric Emmerson & the Magic Tramps in the city. Eric was a street musician and an Andy Warhol film star.
We were very in and hung out with all the stars at Max's Kansas City on Park Ave, right around the corner from Andy's studio, The Factory.
Eric, unfortunately, was killed riding a bicycle in the city and 1/2 the band (Chris Stein, bass, a& Debra Harry, bck vocals) became Blondie and I started my power trio, Cold Steel. Cold Steel was to be signed by Marshall Chess right before he fell from power with the Stones, next thing I knew he had moved in with my X girlfriend, Dini McConnell..He was no longer with the Stones, his wife had divorced him, took everything, and was staying with Dini, tryin to kick his heroin addiction..
Anyway we lost touch, same thing with Bill Aucoin, manager for Kiss and Billy Idol, a personal friend and fan of mine.
Billy's keyboard blond beauty was Judy Dozier, who I was dating at the time..anyway, I got to meet Bill, and Jimmy Miller, ex Stones producer, and personal friend od mine, told him he should sign me, but Bill was on the way down to,
sleeping with a severe addition, and eventually got dumped from Kiss and the, Billy.
Cold Steel reigned supreme in Manhattan for many years and were approached by many big and famous record presaidents in New York, unfortunatly they were all Queens on drugs or just big fat Jewish faggots that wanted me to screw them for a record deal.
For Instance, Semoure Stein, Nat Weiss, Clice Davis's vice president, forgoy his name, but he's dead now anyway.
Then I was living with Stuart Werbin, the editor of Rolling Stone Magazine. He gave me a room to put my band together and took me in to Arista (stuart worked for Clive for 6 mth on starting Arista)and told him to sign me,
but he passed me off to his assistant who was a total queen.
(She's in Heat) & (Don't Have Time)
Anyway, the albums lyrics are potent poems of live in the big city..and direct and to the point..
I remember going to the opening of Studio 54, and got a blow job, in the dungeon (You Got Me) and a tune about the intense Burlest dancers that I used to date from LA and the city, Kim, legstricity, & Anette Heinz, "57 ways"
( S & M Heart) The love of my life stripped away by fate, (The Desert Winds) My anger and rage over a betrayal
( Prostitute of Love) and a song in 7/4 about my little heiresses goldfish, in ( I Love Your Fish)
And of course, He's a Devil, about satan and how he works.
a tune about a British Penthouse cover girl, Miss Hargrave,
who I had a huge crush on..
I'll add a few notes later on, thanks for your interest and support.
