Description
Code Red marks the sixth installment in the Tori Fixx musical series and is his most sold work of all. Tori's recent appearances on Paula Zahn/CNN and the Tyra Banks Show makes Code Red the "right release at the right time". Tori has truly begun to come into his own with this funky masterpiece and for those just entering the world of Fixx, this is the CD to start with.
Tori has always been known for his funky beats and tight production so it isn’t surprising that he takes no shorts with Code Red. In fact he uses his keen sense as a DJ to infuse elements from today’s club bangers into his own material such as the dirty south beats that lace the tracks “If That’s What They Want” and “Like My Baby” or the reggaeton sound of “I Dare U”. Yet there’s still additional treasures that not only complete Code Red but push the album beyond the realm of hip-hop and club music.
Indeed Code Red is filled with catchy club bangers reminiscent of the Basement Jaxx (What Beat U Dancin’ On?) to the Black Eyed Peas (Big Boi Toiz, Good Morn’ting, Work It Out) but it’s the last two songs of this album that crosses Tori Fixx into additional genres unlike any of his prior material. The Prince flavored “Big Black Limozene” intentionally borrows itself from the classic Little Red Corvette but it’s the gem known as “Not Perfect (by any means)” that shows T. Fixx’s musicianship and skills as a quality singer/songwriter making Code Red a CD unlike any other today. Don’t let it pass you by.
