Description
The first time I saw Terry Blankley perform was at a local Regional Music Association venue. I was there to support local talent. I was there to support fellow musicians- I was there for the music and nothing else. As I watched Terry and others on stage, I remember thinking how out of place Terry seemed. He was playing and singing as well as the others he shared the stage with but he didn't seem to be like them. He wasn't putting on a show, he didn't change his persona like the others. He was the same Terry I'd chatted with at the door when he hit me up for the $20 bucks admission fee.
Over the years, I've gotten to know Terry as a co-writer and producer and he is the real thing. As a singer/songwriter and entertainer, Terry is as talented as any I've come across.
He's not interested in persona or playing to impress - he's playing to stay alive and to keep his hopes for a better world alive. As you listen to this CD, think about the early Blues and Jazz players that played from the heart. Think about the guys that most don't know as "stars". Think about what "real" music is - an art form - unique sounds from a heart and soul. If you do that, you'll get Terry Blankley and his music.
