Description
Tengo Ranchito, released in May 2007, is a collection of
13 new songs in the folk/blues traditions. Combining acoustic guitars, vocal harmonies, mandolin, fiddle, and Dobro proves an irresistible combination in the telling of these 14 tales. Backed by ace musicians Orville Johnson, Paul Elliot, Jeff Simmons and Chris Leighton these songs come to life. The great Alice Stuart shares vocals on the classic "Satisfied Mind".
"Small Town Girl" brings to life the story of yearning to escape, "Troubled Love" haunts with it's aching slide guitar and Hammond B-3 organ, "Light On The Shore" offers up the solace of hope, and "She's Lucky" is a honky-tonk tale of a good luck girl.
John is a Seattle based guitarist/songwriter/producer and offers this, his second full length release for listeners who enjoy a roots and traditional style of music. A mostly acoustic record, Tengo Ranchito does feature telecasters, lap steel and drums at times creating an infectious groove when the tunes call for it.
